Cities are increasingly using international events to improve their image, stimulate urban development and attract investors.
International events such as World Fairs, EXPOs and Global Summits are used, to boost tourism, to promote local economy and to develop.
Izmir Chamber of Commerce has been an active NGO from the day it was established in 1885 to contribute to the development of our city. Besides her role in administrating and regulating the trade activities, Izmir Chamber of Commerce has a special mission in positioning Izmir as a brand city.
In order to accelerate the phase of becoming a world known brand city, Izmir Chamber of Commerce established the International Events Department in May 2008.
Our mission is to organize and attract top-level events to Izmir in de fields of economy, politics, culture, art, science and sports to create a synergy that will lead to the further internationalization of Izmir on the way of becoming a brand city.
