 The Museum of Archaeology(Varyant, Konak)
The Museum of Archaeology, founded in 1927, houses objects from Izmir and its surroundings dating from prehistoric times to the Byzantine period. Among them are mosaics and a magnificent collection of vases and figurines. The display of sculptures and architectural elements continues in the garden. A major construction effort is underway to enlarge the exhibit halls and modernize access to the Museum.
 Museum of Art and History
Inaugurated in 2004, the three separate buildings of this museum house works of art from the site of archaic Smyrna at Bayraklı, and from various archaeological sites in western Anatolia: Miletos, Ephesos, Claros etc. Major of the Hellenistic and Roman periods are on display in the Departments of Ceramics and of Sculpture, next to which is the Department of Precious Objects, where one can admire a very rich collection of coins and bronze objects.
