Several research projects in political, economic and social issues were implemented in Public Research Center since April, 2007. The results of these researches were complied according to their contents and this grouping lead us to see the relations between the relating variables and it lighted the way for longitudinal evaluations on the results which were conducted in different times.
Research projects and their brief contents are shown below.
[MAY, 2007] “THE POLITICAL ORIENTATIONS AND VOTING BEHAVIORS”
The aim of this research was evaluating the political orientations and voting behaviors of Turkish people prior to general elections in 2007. 3000 face to face interviews were held in 9 metropolitan districts of Izmir.
[JUNE, 2007] “THE SYMBOLS OF IZMIR AND THE POLITICAL ORIENTATIONS”
In this research not only the political orientations and voting behaviors of Turkish people prior to general elections in 2007 but also their general evaluations and representations about the city were evaluated. 3064 face to face interviews were held in 9 metropolitan and 19 peripheral districts of Izmir.
[JANUARY, 2008] “THE INVENTORY OF HISTORICAL BAZAAR, KEMERALTI”
All spatial units were stock taken (12.432 units) and interviews with all artisans, craftsmen and employers were conducted in order to learn their opinions about the general economical conditions of this historical bazaar, their current problems and future demands regarding this area.
[MARCH, 2008] “THE ECONOMIC EXPECTATIONS, EXPO 2015 AND POLITICAL ORIENTATIONS”
The aim of this research was evaluating the economic expectations, political orientations and voting behaviors of Turkish people prior to local government elections in 2009. 2006 face to face interviews were held in 18 different districts of Izmir.
[JUNE, 2008] “CONSUMING HABITS AND BEHAVIORS IN IZMIR”
The aim of this research was evaluating the consuming habits and life styles of people who are living in Izmir. 660 face to face interviews were conducted with people coming from different social layers in order to understand where people go for shopping and what do they purchase and which factors affect this purchasing process.
[AUGUST, 2008] “THE IMPRESSIONS AND THE GENERAL EVALUATIONS OF CRUISE PASSENGERS ABOUT IZMIR”
This project was designed to research on the expectations of cruise passengers arriving to the port of Izmir. 5453 participants are asked to express their impressions, petitions and complaints about the city, the services and facilities.
